Contact: Julie Grynwich, 269-469-2933
Location: Pokagon Room
Co-Sponsored by the New Buffalo Railroad Museum
On August 25, 1895, just a couple of hours after Chicago & West Michigan express train #3 rolled through New Buffalo, it was held up and robbed just north of Fennville. This proved to be the biggest train robbery in the Lower Peninsula and it led to the murder of the first Grand Rapids policeman to die in the line of duty. This who-done-it presentation will cover the crime and the stories of the people involved.
Presenter: Paul Trap, of Holland, Mich., is a retired teacher and longtime railroad historian.            269-469-2933
