Description: Ever wonder how Harbor Country’s main thoroughfares—Red Arrow Highway and the Iron Brigade Memorial Highway (US12) got their names? Civil War expert John Urschel tells the story of the 24th Michigan Infantry and the Iron Brigade by following the life of Brigadier General Henry A. Morrow. He will also mention Michigan men who served in other Iron Brigade regiments, and examine the Iron Brigade’s successor, the Red Arrow Division, in the World Wars, and the Division’s commander in World War I, Colonel Joseph Westnedge.
Presenter: John Urschel. Urschel is an author and authority on Michigan during the Civil War.
