|Description:||Discarded plastics are covering large swaths of ocean, falling from the sky with rain and snow and even getting into the food we eat. Some sources of plastics pollution are obvious; some are surprising. According to one estimate, the weight of plastics in the oceans will exceed the weight of the oceans’ fish by 2050. Popular speaker Wendy Jones examines the problem from a naturalist’s perspective, and suggests ways to slow plastics pollution.
Presenter: Wendy Jones, Head Naturalist, Fernwood Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve
