Description: Michiana Potowatomi successfully resisted U.S. government efforts to move them from Michigan to Kansas, thanks to their chief, Leopold Pokagon. The tribe didn’t win recognition from Washington, however, for about 160 years. Join us for a Zoom presentation on Pokagon history, including a film from The Region of Three Oaks Museum, an introduction by Museum Director Nick Bogert and a question-and-answer session featuring Professor John Low, an American Indian Studies specialist at Ohio State University and a member of the Pokagon Band.
