|Title:||Sally Rand: American Sex Symbol|
She appeared in more than 30 films and was named after a road atlas by Cecil B. DeMille. A football play was named after her. She was arrested six times in a single day for indecency. She was immortalized in the final scene of The Right Stuff, cartoons and popular culture, and lived on as the iconic symbol of the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. She paved the way for every sex symbol who followed, from Lana Turner to Marilyn Monroe to Lady Gaga. Yet Sally Rand, a poor girl from the Ozarks, died penniless and in debt.
Presenter: William Hazelgrove. Hazelgrove is a prolific author and speaker whose subjects range from the Wright Brothers, to Al Capone, to Teddy Roosevelt, to and Edith Wilson.
