Join Chikaming Open Lands and local libraries for a Storywalk on the Preserves! We are excited to partner with Bridgman Public Library, Buchanan District Library, New Buffalo Township Library, and Three Oaks Township Library to bring fun-filled family friendly story books at four COL preserves starting Sunday, March 21st to Monday, June 21st!
How does the StoryWalk work?
A StoryWalk is a way for people to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time! Book pages have been separately laminated and attached to stakes along the preserve path. As you walk down the trail you are directed to the next page of the story!
Which Preserve will have a StoryWalk?
Go to one (or all!) of the following preserves for a fun family story to enjoy sponsored by a different local library:
Burns Prairie Preserve
Jens Jensen Preserve
Robinson Woods Preserve
Turtle Creek Preserve
When will the StoryWalk Start?
The StoryWalk will be available on the first official day of spring Sunday, March 21st. The StoryWalk will end on the last day of spring Monday, June 21st.
Each preserve will have a different story to enjoy. We encourage you to take your time and enjoy the nature preserves and the fun story books hand picked from our local libraries!
The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
